The Steinhart Aquarium is part of the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.  Those familiar with San Francisco will note that the image in the background is generally how the Golden Gate Bridge appears in the summertime afternoons.  On this particular day, the rest of the Bay Area was clear.  This is the picture you typically see from the Marin Headlands.  If the fog weren't there (which, again, it quite often is), you would see a glorious view of the City by the Bay.

On the day we visited, we were severely limited by time.  One major drawback to the California Academy of Sciences is, the security personnel can be somewhat rude.  When the closing hour comes, they want you out of there NOW.  In fact, they're one of those places that considers themselves closed 5 minutes before the actual closing time.  Grrrr.  Because we were so rushed, we didn't get very many pictures.  However, the aquarium and museum are very worthy of a visit when in San Francisco.  In fact, they're "don't miss".  The planetarium and earthquake exhibits were closed when we were there (due to a fire), but they are also worth visiting even if the aquarium wasn't there.  Parking is quite an issue in Golden Gate Park, though, and is definitely worth researching ahead of time.
Now then... the pictures that *did* come out:
